Dr. Joey Miller, PT is a Physical Therapist in South Florida who was born and raised in the small town of Woodward Oklahoma. She received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Spanish at Oklahoma City University. She received the outstanding student for Kinesiology department. She also received a full ride to Oklahoma City University (OCU) for wrestling. While competing at OCU she made it on the Olympic latter, won nationals 2x, and universities 2x. Prior to her experience at OCU she was the first girl to win boys states as a child and first girl to qualify and place in high school boys state. With her long carrier in wrestling she had 8 surgeries and on her first surgery she was told she would not be able to compete again. Once she went to Physical Therapy, she was able to wrestle 7 years later and 7 surgeries later through Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapist that worked with her showed her first-hand how the power of Physical Therapy can get you back to what you love. The past experiences brought her to the passion of helping others get back to what they love with an improved quality of life and independence. After graduating at OCU, she made the move to Miami to get her doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Miami. She took an extra year in a Geriatric Residency through St. Catherine’s Rehabilitation Center. Since living in Miami she has done the dolphins cycling challenge (50 miles and 100 miles), ran a half marathon, tough mudder, and volunteered at the inner city wrestling club. She enjoys running, lifting, being outdoors, hiking, and making arts and crafts on her Cricut. She also loves to spend time with her dog, Saber, and bearded dragon, Spryo.
